Poetry in Form
My inspiration for this series came from an exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art: Streams and Mountains without End—Landscape Traditions of China. In ancient China, people liked to draw pictures with poems on the side, which made me wonder if I could match images with modern Chinese poems. So I chose a few of my favorite poems by Mu Xin, a contemporary Chinese writer, and painter. On the media, I chose a combination of clay and wool felt to create a small scene. It's something I've never tried but always wanted to do. It is very challenging to show the tension of a two-dimensional picture with a three-dimensional scene. In the process also encountered because of lack of experience and shooting dynamic feeling, lighting is not good enough and the details of the adjustment. Finally, the constant adjustment and again and again in the shooting achieved the final effect.
